The Challenge
With no in-house integration or development resources at
that time, ELH needed a new partner that could deliver
advanced Salesfore.com customizations and custom data integration solutions in a timely and cost-effective manner.
The Solution
Collaborate with a Salesforce.com development firm with real-world data integration experience – Ossia Systems
Ossia presented multiple architecture options and, after a brief review period, both teams agreed on a design that would meet ELH’s requirements with respect to functionality, total cost of ownership, ease of maintenance and speed to market.
Clear communication
Ossia introduced their proven development process and set up various collaboration tools to record ideas, define use cases, create test plans, track issues, report bugs and manage deployments. ELH immediately saw the value of this and still uses these tools and processes to this day
Then Ossia started designing and building an on-premise data synchronization engine built with .NET Core and other mature open source technologies. This technology choice would make it relatively easy to find skilled resources to maintain it in the future.
Once the integration was in place, Ossia began work on the new Patient Portal running on Salesforce.com Communities / Digital Experiences. In order to meet ELH’s requirements, which included automatic provisioning of new users, this required extensive customization of Salesforce.com, including Lightning and Apex development

Within six months the Ossia Systems team delivered a fault-tolerant, scalable data synchronization solution that positioned the ELH team for the future. They also delivered a modern Patient Portal that leveraged the best features of the new integration and the power of Salesforce.com.
